Newspapers as a Genealogical Resource

>> note date change <<

by Caron Primas Brennan

Learn how to find and use newspapers to find information about your ancestors as well as the times they lived in. Some of the items to be found in newspapers includes obituaries, marriage and engagement announcements, birth announcements, legal cases, and ship passage information. We will learn how to find newspapers online and in libraries and archives and cite your sources.

About Caron Primas Brennan

Caron Primas Brennan love history, biography, puzzles and a good mystery, which makes her perfectly suited to genealogy research. She belongs to several local and regional genealogy groups and is a member of the Genealogical Speakers Guild and a Professional Member of APG. Caron is a long-time CAGGNI member and former board member, and currently serves as Society Liaison for ISGS. A popular speaker, she has been speaking at libraries and societies for over ten years.

Our speaker will be live, so if you're in the area, we hope you'll join us at the library.
